Chapter 3
My idea of the perfect career is in administration and management. I am going to become a Chief Executive Officer or a vice president in an established corporate sector for three reasons. First, I am fascinated by working in a big office with many people or in a small office with only a few people. Second, I am able to impose with critical and analytical thinking because I had an experience when I join debate club. Third, when I working in this field, the environment will enhance my intrapersonal skills such as leadership, self-improvement, and self-confident. One possible problem that may I have when I going into this career is I always busy until do not have proper time to spend time with family and friends. However, I am willingly to face it as challenge in my life in order to achieve my goal and make my future dream come true.

My experience with flow
Most of us have experience with flow. Flow can define as well as times when an activity goes very smoothly and brings great happiness. Furthermore, flow does not last long. My experience with flow is when I was at primary and secondary school. I am the one who always join public speaking competition when I studied in standard five. I participated in elocution contest but, I am not the winner because I disable to memorize the whole text prepared by my teacher at the moment. I also felt anxious and nervous in front of the audience. My parents always are a booster to increase my self- confident at the high rate. I am really thankful because they were always supported in everything I did. Before I started the performance, I would practice in front of mirror to ensure I will give the best during my performance. In addition, I also took part in poem competition during independent day grand festival at my school. I tried as well as I can and luckily, I got the third place. My teacher said, ‘it is a good trial for you and you have to make the judges passionate with your performance’. The word always bare in my mind until now because it seemed has a power to generate my emotion and spirit together in order to make my dream become reality. However, I felt very satisfied and glad because I able to perform well beyond my expectation. After that, I join debate club when I studied in standard six. Although I have to sit for my UPSR examination, I am able to manage time properly without forgetting my responsibility as a student. Ultimately, I got ‘the best speaker when debate competition. The opponents are my friend. I put all my attentions while the competition because I do not want to let the opportunity and chance goes away. The great happiness appeared in the deep of my heart at the moment. My parent also excited when knows I am the best speaker because it was my first time to experience it and it was complicated to describe through words. Other experience of mine with flow is when I received SPM result. It seemed only a beautiful dream because my result better than I expected. It was an unpredictable moment that I ever had! My mom said,’ you are deserved to got that because you put all your effort in order to achieve excellent result.
Where I am in life now
I recently celebrated my birthday on 23 of July ago. Now, I am 20 years old. In my opinion, a lot of idea and transformation pointed out at this age. That situation also happened to me and I will tell as well as I can in a chronology order. When I studied at primary school, I always imagine that when I grow up, I want to be a doctor. Why I am just dream to be a doctor? The answer is I really want to help the people who need a treatment and remedy in order to cure their disease. I will give my expertise to ensure all my patients receive a high quality service because they have to pay all the treatment that they get. My entire obsession of future is only about that. However, all of it totally changes after I got a PMR result. My result did not qualify to enter science stream class. My tears drop off when I received examination slip at school. My entire ambitious career had goes away in second. It was an unforgettable moment that I really hard to forget until now. My parent try as well as they can to persuade me and they motivated me with some advises. My mom said, ‘what happened now is not your fault my dear. Maybe your effort not enough in order to attain excellent result, you have to grab all the opportunities that come to you after this’. I further my study in accounting class. When I entered a class during the first day, I felt so sad and it seemed my whole life will be gloomy.
I know that it is a situation that I have to face bravely either the challenges come in physically or mentally. I strive hard to make myself able to handle it. I am really thankful to all my friends because they were help me a lot in studying and finally I succeed to interact and communicate with all the teachers who taught me without doubtful. All of them always supported and encouraged me in my studying. I also feel lucky because I am the one who selected to join debate club. I delegate for my school as a first debater until state competition level. Moreover, I also involved myself in sport activity such as netball. Through this activity, I will enhance my intrapersonal skill like leadership and management of time. I really enjoyed joining this activity with moral support given by parent, friends, and teachers. I want to challenge myself to achieve an excellent result in SPM examination even though I am the hectic person whether to focus on studying or participated in co-curriculum activities. In order to attain excellent result, I need to sacrifice wisely. So, I decided to enter an extra class at night. I will ask and discuss with my teacher about the lessons that I not really understand and we did many passed question. Finally, I passed SPM examination with flying colors. It was an
Unpredictable moment! Now, I further my study at Islamic Science University of Malaysia under Economy and Muamalat Faculty major in corporate administration and relation. I will give all my effort to attain an excellent result and the priority is I want to be the one of dean list. When I wake up early every morning, I will imagine automatically that if my entire future dream becomes reality because it can integrate my emotion and spirit to make myself concentrate and focus on studying and facing all challenges optimist. Hopefully my entire future dream will come true soon. “Dreams do come true, if we only wish hard enough. You can have anything in life if you will sacrifice everything else for it”. –James Matthew Barrie.

JOURNAL WRITING
Something I learned about the secrets of happiness in work.
My father goes to work every morning almost at 7.15 a.m early in the morning. Sometimes, I am very curious to know about his feeling because I saw a tiredness reaction upon his face. However, he still smiles and had a breakfast with us while doing some kidding. A very cheerful morning we had went sat for breakfast with him. When he worked at office, he become a seriously and workaholic man because I had followed him to the office and saw how he worked. He paid full of attention and focusing on his work. An office hour end at 5.00 p.m as usually, but he will go for home at 6.30 p.m. What did he do at office while all of the staff already arrive their home? I had an opportunity to ask him about it because my mother always mumbling,’ your dad coffee already served, but did not drink yet’. My father said,’ I want to tell you what the reason why I work hard and diligently on my job’. I am the one who really enjoyed doing my work every second. Moreover, I never feel bored at office when complete all works. The main reason I able to create joy and bring happiness in to my work is I have a great passion about my job and fascinated by which field I worked now. Then, my father said, he always friendly to all the staff even he is employer of them whereby give an instructions and make sure the staff will complete his order in the nick of time commonly. “Friendship is one of life’s main joys,” says David Niven, PhD, author of The 100 Simple Secrets of Happy People. “Spending time with people who really know you affords you the freedom to be yourself, which increases contentment.” I was very surprised when heard quotation from his because I assumed he did not read any kind of book because always busy. Besides, my father was an adventurer when he worked. “People assume that doing the right thing leads to happiness, but actually taking risks does,” he said. Next, a balance of busy and dead time is key. Although my father busy with his work, he still has time to do meditation in order to release all the stress out either physically or mentally. Start by sitting upright with your hands on your thighs, palms up. Close eyes and take a deep breath. Hold it for a two second count, then release, letting your breath ease into its natural rhythm. Focus on keeping this concentration for the eight-minute span and you’ll feel lighter instantly. My father also advises me to do meditation frequently, at least twice a week. Lastly, my father tell me, once start to work, you must stop mentally browsing. If you have to impose a decision whenever the decision is in doubt, the solution is you have to pick two important characteristics that are important to you. Ultimately, my entire questions are already answered. I fell really satisfied and I learned a secret of happiness in work from my beloved father. Hopefully I will be like my father when I working in the future.
